Separation:
The first step towards a new species is separation. Separation occurs when a species is separated, or "broken-up" due to a natural cause or experiment. In this case the Draco lizards face the problem of scarce food. Due to them overpopulating, food has become scarce over time. Therefore, the Draco lizards split up. Around half of the Draco lizards split up to find new land, with the possibility of finding more ants and termites. When the Draco lizard finds its land, it will start to adapt to it. This will take a great amount of time.

Adaptation:
Adaptation is the second to last step of the 3 steps to speciation. The Draco lizards have found the new forested area. The Draco lizards have had to climb up many trees. More than what they regularly do. This causes their claws to sharpen over time, making it easier to claw and grab termites and ants. The new habitat that the Draco lizards have adapted to has a lot of hollow spaces in the trees. This had made the Draco lizards snouts grow a little pointier. Lastly, the Draco lizard has had a wing span increase. Their wings have now increased a bit, due to the long span of flight over time. Draco lizards wings, beaks, and claws have changed over a great deal of time.

Division:
Division is the last step out of the 3 steps of speciation. Over the time of adaption the Draco lizard turns into a dragon like animal. The Draco lizard will try to mate but they wont be able to make an offspring. The Draco lizard will soon die and the possibility of having another dragon like animal will be very low. Unless another Draco lizard moves to the same area. The dragon like animal will be extinct over time. It will take many years for it to adapt into another dragon like animal.
