Giant Panda Evolution By: April V, Cassie D, Emily G, Ciara C
Separation- The giant panda is moving and endangered because of people building cities and destroying the panda’s environment. So then they might get separated from other pandas and create a new species of pandas! Example: There will be no food (bamboo) left for the panda, so then they will have to find a new food source while they are moving on to new land. Adaptation- During adaptation the panda will adapt or change depending on their environment. For our panda its hands will be more defined and developed to have a good grip while walking or climbing. It will also have a longer snout to reach insects in trees or dirt. It will also have sharper claws to dig for its food. Division- More and more pandas started to adapt to new surroundings so a new species started to form. They also have their own fertile offspring so they can’t interbreed with anyone else. So then after 20,000 years there will probably be a new species of panda like the one we created. They are now a new speices because they have changed over time and they also adapted to different types food that they now eat!
