The wolverine is a small bear-like creature that lives in the forests, taigas, and tundra of Europe, Russia, and North America. The wolverine is a mammal and is also an omnivore. They are known to live up to 7-12 years. They are the largest member weasel family. Not a lot is known in the wolverine's evolutionary history, due to the lack of fossils.
We predict that within the next 200 thousand years, that the wolverine will undergo multiple major evolutionary changes. These changes will largely affect the wolverines diet, habitat, behaviors, and physical appearances. The changes will occur because of natural and man-made changes to their habitat.
2020- Due to extreme weather condition changes caused by unknown sources, the wolverine's habitat began to increase in temperature, as well as flooding-The wolverine began to move north, causing it to lose thickness the of it's fur.
20000- The wolverine species was nearly wiped out because of an exponential growth in the mosquito population.
22000- Later on the wolverines grew immune to the mosquitoes and their diseases, they also began to evolve tougher skin than before.
26000- The wolverine became smaller, due to the lack of food sources after the excessive amount of mosquitoes, had severely depleted the food sources of the wolverine.
30000- Weather began to get colder, causing the wolverine to grow its fur back, but during the previous centuries, other predators arose robbing the wolverine of its spot at the top of the food chain, due to this, the wolverine grew spikes along with its fur as a defensive adaptation.
100000- The wolverines became more of a herbivorous species, due to the lack of prey after the recent decrease in temperature.
150000- Wolverines start to find a large food source in the trees such as, leaves, flowers, squirrels, and birds.
In 202016, the wolverine will become the Spiked Woala, due to its characteristically spiked fur and the similarities it and the ancient Koala.
